Tire Rotation and New Tires here in Salina, Kansas

Why should I get my tires rotated?

Uneven wear on your tires can cause some serious issues for your vehicle. Anything from bad steering to lower gas mileage could be a result of uneven wear. Regularly rotating your tires helps achieve a more uniform wear pattern, and in turn a safer, smoother ride for you and your passengers.

What is proper rotation?

For a Front wheel drive vehicle, a tire rotation means you move the front two tires straight back and then move the rear tires forward and crisscross, right to left and left to right. For a four wheel drive vehicle the rotation is backwards. The rear tires move straight forward and the front tires are moved backward and crisscross, right to left and left to right. But don’t worry we will take care of that for you.

Why and how often should I rotate my tires?

It is recommended that you rotate your tires every 6,000-8,000 miles driven. If you come in for an Oil, Lube, and Filter change every 3,000 miles then every other visit is preferred. If your vehicle is a front wheel drive, it carries over 60% of the weight on the front two tires. The front two tires of your vehicle are also responsible for moving and steering, and about 80% of the braking that is necessary to stop. It stands to reason that the front two tires in your front-wheel drive will wear much more quickly than the rear tires. We would love to get you scheduled for your next tire rotation today.
